Pennies for Patients Starts Next Week

It’s time again for our annual fundraiser called “Pennies for Patients” in which Briggs Middle School raises as much money as we can to donate to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  Over the past few years, Briggs has donated more than $6000 to this cause.  (This is also one of the service projects that eighth graders can choose to do as all eighth graders must complete a Citizenship Service Project each spring.)

Starting next Tuesday, May 23  and running until Friday, June 2, students and staff can contribute money to help fight cancer.  As in the past, small buckets will be delivered some time before next Tuesday to each classroom with an AM bloc.  We will then collect these buckets during eighth grade lunch, total up the contributions, and then return the buckets to you to be refilled.

Elissa Barton has graciously offered to lead the kids who will be collecting and counting the donations, so three cheers for her generosity.

As in years past, the AM bloc class that raises the most money will be treated to a catered, all-you-can-eat lunch from the Olive Garden.

If you have any questions, please contact Briggs @ 541-744-6350.
