Rose Children’s Theater is offering a variety of exciting and unique summer camps from June 25 through August 17. Is your child interested in acting, singing, or dancing? From an introductory camp filled with acting games and Disney and Pixar music to a bilingual camp with music and skits in both English and Spanish, Rose Children’s Theater has something for everyone. Scholarships and sibling discounts are also available. For your convenience, below are the camps that elementary school kids can attend. Adventures in Acting

June 25 – 29, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Actors:  Kindergarten – 2nd Grade

Artistic Team led by Hannah Montgomery

This adventurous Rose Children’s Theater camp for our youngest actors is back by popular demand!  Imaginary play will be the main attraction in this one week, morning only, theater camp designed especially for rising Kindergarten through 2nd graders. Each day, students will participate in fun-filled theater exercises and movement games. This camp culminates in an informal sharing performance for family and friends on the last day of camp. Comedy Musical Theater and Improv Camp

June 25 – 29

2 Actor Groups:  3rd – 5th Grade and 6th – 12th Grade

Artistic Team of Pamela Lehan-Siegel, Marc Siegel, and Kyra Siegel

3rd through 5th Grade, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

In this workshop-style camp, actors will take their theatrical comedy skills to a new level as they explore musical comedy choreography, basic clowning skills, comedy improvisation, character/scene work, vocal comedy, and singing. A final performance will include a showcase with song and dance selections from Peter Pan, SpongeBob SquarePants, The Music Man, Shrek, and The Lion King.

Elementary Musical Theatre Camp

July 9 – 20, Two-week Camp, Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Actors 3rd – 5th Grade

RCT’s popular musical theater camp for grades 3 through 5 is back! Spend two fun-filled weeks preparing a junior version of a Broadway musical. Campers will have expert instruction in singing, acting, and dance.  To show off their new talents, actors will perform for friends and family on the Wildish Theater stage.

Bilingual Musical Theatre Camp (English/Spanish)

August 6-10, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Actors 3rd – 8th Grade

Rose Children’s Theatre proudly presents its first bilingual musical theatre summer camp!  Please join this fully bilingual staff as they take actors on a musical theater journey, learning songs and skits in both English and Spanish.  The camp will highlight songs, dance, and culture from several Spanish speaking countries. Additionally, actors will work on their acting skills. Rose Children’s Theatre welcomes all 3rd – 8th grade native Spanish speakers and Spanish immersion students. No prior acting experience is required.  Just be prepared to participate and have fun!


El teatro Rose Children tiene el placer de presentar el primer campamento de verano de teatro musical bilingüe! Únanse a nuestro equipo bilingüe el cual los llevará a un viaje lleno de musicales, donde podrán aprender canciones y teatral, tanto en Inglés como en Español. El campamento seleccionará canciones, bailes y aspectos culturales de diferentes países hispanohablantes. Además, los participantes tendrán la oportunidad de trabajar y mejorar sus habilidades en la actuación. El teatro Rose Children da la bienvenida a todos los niños y niñas entre 3r y 8º grado, hispanohablantes que sean nativos y estudiantes de colegios con inmersión en Español. No es necesario tener experiencia. Sólo es necesario estar preparado para participar y divertirse!

RCT and OCC Elementary Collaboration Camp:  “Heroes and Villains”

August 13 – 17, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Actors K – 5th Grade

Artistic Team led by Wayne Strong

Rose Children’s Theatre and Oregon Children’s Choir are collaborating in a fun introduction to musical theater with vocal, acting, and dance skill building for elementary age actors. The camp focuses on both individual and group performance using musical theater songs and scenes that highlight the theme of heroes and villains. Actors will present a review performance for their family and friends at the end of the week, including group and individual songs, short scenes, and monologues.

Actors’ Workshop

August 13 – 17, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Actors 4th – 10th Grade

Artistic Team led by Scott Frazier-Maskiell


In the Actors’ Workshop, the actors will become part of the process as they collaborate with staff and each other in creating an original piece of theatre from the ground up! Through basic improv skills, theater games, and story building, actors will construct their very own unique theater experience. The week will culminate in a final performance to share the original work with friends and family. Emphasis will be placed on building a strong ensemble and exploring artistic creativity.
