Are you missing a coat or two???

Is your child(ren) missing their coat? We just might have it here in room 1! From September until now, students have misplaced four large bags full of coats, sweatshirts, vests and more here at school. Any items with names in them have been returned to the student. We strongly encourage families to put names in their coats. If you believe that we may have a missing item that belongs to you, please come to room 1 any day to claim it. Any items left at school by this Friday, Dec. 21st will be donated to a local organization such as St. Vincent de Paul or Goodwill. Thank you for your understanding.IMG_5103

Annual U of O Science and Invention Fair

Greetings Science Lovers!

Once again, the SPICE program at the University of Oregon will be holding the annual UO Science and Invention Fair for K-8 students on campus during Winter term.
The Fair will be held on the UO campus on April 13, 2019
In order to support students in developing science fair projects the SPICE program provides a series of hands on workshops in science fair project development. We will send instructors to local classrooms and non-profit groups to lead the workshops and assist students in developing projects.
Workshop visits will happen mid-January-March 2019, but we’d also love to visit your classroom sometime in mid-January (15-20 minutes) to introduce the fair and help your students get a jumpstart on their projects. Please share with teachers and friends!
To learn more and sign up for visits, please visit our workshop information page here.
Best wishes,
UO Science Fair Team

New secretary starting soon

Centennial Parents and Families,

As some of you may know, Mrs. Engle, has decided it is time to retire from her post as

school secretary to be a full-time wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Engle’s’ last day as a Blue Jay will be December 21st. Please be sure to come by to wish her the best as she will be missed by the Centennial community. We are thankful for her 30+ years of service in Springfield.

I am happy to announce Deb Jolda has been selected as the next administrative secretary of Centennial and will begin transitioning into her new role the weeks leading up to winter break. Mrs. Jolda has worked in our district for the last 13 years in our communications department. She is looking forward to having a more direct impact with students in our community.

Mrs. Jolda will have many new names and faces to learn. As a reminder please be prepared to show your identification when picking-up students early or visiting the school while she gets to know the many new faces. We anticipate a smooth transition from Mrs. Engle to Mrs. Jolda and thank you ahead of time for your patience through this transition.

Thank you,

Amy Halley Centennial Principal

Gracias,

Amy Halley
Director de Centennial
