Gateways High School is happy to announce our students of the month for January. Every month GHS teachers nominate students whose accomplishments deserve public recognition. Three different organizations have honored our students this month:  Register Guard, Springfield Times, and The Elks Club.

Our January Nominees are: Adriana Martinez, Jorge Monroy, Cody Nissen

Adriana was nominated by the Gateways High School Staff. She is being honored by the Register Guard. The staff had this to share about Adriana:

Adriana is a remarkable student. Her attendance is impeccable. Despite going through a pregnancy, she is here every day. Her positive attitude and smile are contagious. Adriana works hard to complete each assignment and to do it at a very high level. It is no wonder that she has been very successful at Gateways and it will be no surprise to see her be extraordinarily successful in life.

Cody Nissen is a hardworking student who is respectful and polite to students and staff alike.  He enjoys hunting, fishing, and other sports (such as basketball).  Having been born in Springfield, he plans to stay a part of the community and follow in his family’s footsteps by working in the oil industry, possibly doing rigging or packing, after graduating high school.  Cody is a valuable addition to the student body at Gateways High School, and is well liked due to his considerate and caring, conscientious attitude.
