Riverbend Elementary

Believe and Achieve!

Welcome back to school sign

Hot breakfast and hot lunch update:

We no longer have the grant that paid for breakfast and lunch for all students.  With this in mind, it is important to fill out our free and reduced lunch paperwork to get your student(s) qualified for either program. This application is available in 3 ways:  1)  when you register your student,  2) in the materials sent home with your student in the first week of school, and 3) via our online portal for meals.

NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

For the last several years, seven Springfield district schools have been able to provide free and reduced-price meals without requiring applications for the program, thanks to the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010.

But that will change this upcoming school year (2019-20) as the Community Eligibility Provision, the program through which schools are reimbursed for the free meals they serve, has determined that the seven Springfield schools no longer qualify for such services.

The seven schools affected include Douglas Gardens Elementary, Guy Lee Elementary, Hamlin Middle School, Maple Elementary, Page Elementary, Riverbend Elementary and Two Rivers-Dos Ríos Elementary.

Students who qualify can still receive free and reduced-price breakfast and lunch, but beginning next school year will need to fill out paperwork applications to ensure that they’re signed up.

Can you also remind families that registration happens tomorrow from 8:00-4:00?

Can you also send this from me to the community:
