Thurston Elementary School

H.E.A.R.T. Skills are the character traits we emphasize at Thurston Elementary.  H.E.A.R.T stands for:

Honor – Doing the right thing, even when no one is looking

Empathy – Knowing and caring how others feel

Accountability – Being responsible for your actions

Respect – Treating others the way you want to be treated

Teamwork – Working well as a group

Our staff are always on the lookout for students showing H.E.A.R.T. behavior, with various rewards including H.E.A.R.T. tickets and weekly ice cream drawings.  Each month we honor one student per trait from each classroom at our H.E.A.R.T. award assembly.  We also do weekly H.E.A.R.T. attack lessons to reinforce the H.E.A.R.T. traits.
