Dear TRDR families,
It is Teacher Appreciation Week this next week, May 4-8th! Since this week is at a time when we have to maintain distance and are unable to express our gratitude for our wonderful TRDR teachers, the PTO, classified staff, and myself have planned several opportunities for all of us to come together and show them we care! Watch the latest PRINCIPAL LOG, and read the information below about ways you can show your appreciation for our teachers!
First, you may have already received blank coloring sheets & materials in the mail from our school district offices encouraging families to color and decorate the coloring sheets, which is great! You can showcase those in your home windows facing outward to our Springfield neighborhoods.
Second, students can create other cards, posters, or poems, and show/read them to their teachers and classmates during our morning meeting times each morning. The teachers would really appreciate seeing your artwork, and hearing poems or thank you messages, students! Get creative!
Third, students can continue to get creative and photograph themselves with their cards or posters, and send them to their teachers, or even film themselves expressing appreciation. You can tell your teacher you have a video or picture and ask how to upload it to their digital classroom platform (Seesaw, Google Classroom, Class Dojo, etc.).
- Parents, you could also take a picture of your student participating in Distance Learning (without showing images of other students on a screen, please) and share it with your student’s teacher.
- AND, the PTO will be displaying a Thank You message on the fence at the front of the school starting Monday, May 4th. If you feel so inclined, and are able to maintain appropriate social distancing precautions, take a picture in front of the sign and send to your teacher through your usual communication methods or upload to the digital card (see below)!
Lastly, students and families, help us surprise the teachers by signing a digital school-wide card! Please click on the link below and follow the instructions. You’ll be able to write a message and add pictures to the digital cards. Again, get creative! Send pics of drawings or projects kids have made; or just the smiling faces the teachers are surely missing. The digital card will automatically be sent to the school on Friday, May 8th.
Thanks for helping to make this teacher appreciation week special!
