Vision Statement: Walterville Elementary is committed to creating an environment where staff, students, and parents are learners, teachers, and leaders. We will accomplish this by fostering diversity, respect, and enthusiasm in a culture of inquiry, humor, and high achievement.
The kindergarten class of 2013-14 is invited to come visit the Walterville School community on either Thursday, March 7th, or Tuesday, March 12th.
* Parents can set up observation times any morning during either of those weeks by calling the office at 541-744-6415 to schedule.
* On Thursday, March 7th at 5:30pm, and again on Tuesday, March 12th at 10:00am, prospective Walterville kindergarten parents are invited to meet with the kindergarten teacher, our school principal, and other Walterville parents in our library who will be available for any questions you may have about your child’s upcoming kindergarten experience. This is also a good time for parents to register kindergarten students for school.
Incoming kinders will have the opportunity to visit the classroom at each of these events. Please remember to bring proof of residence (i.e., utility bill) and your child’s birth certificate and immunization record.
If you have any questions regarding school boundaries or transfers please call our office, Amy Stephens at 541-726-3254, or go to Transfers at www.sps.lane.edu.
Our district is competing in the Follett Challenge. Librarians from around the district have shared what they are doing to support students and teachers in the video below. Watch the video and see some Walterville students talk about their success with ereaders. Click the link to vote. You can vote daily all the way through March 18th. If our district wins, it could mean thousands of dollars in library materials for our schools. Take a moment to support our schools! Thank you!
