Vision Statement: Walterville Elementary is committed to creating an environment where staff, students, and parents are learners, teachers, and leaders. We will accomplish this by fostering diversity, respect, and enthusiasm in a culture of inquiry, humor, and high achievement.
This is a great time for the whole family. There will be Papa’s Pizza for sale. We will have nearly 100 silent auction items including family tickets to Disneyland and a winery tour, among so many. The Bingo is cheap and fun. Join us on March 13th at 5:30.
Students invite a special person in their lives to come to school and share a special lunch. Sign-ups will be going home shortly. Please enjoy this special activity and let us know if you can volunteer.
Walterville School PTO is sponsoring our annual Jog-a-thon this Thursday. All students will participate at 10:00 a.m. on the track. Students and families are urged to solicit pledges to help support enrichment programs and materials at our school. Please come on out to cheer the kids on. Volunteers are needed.
Hello Walterville families,
One of the goals of the PTO this year was to improve communication with families. With that in mind, I have created a graphic to illustrate where the PTO puts the fundraising dollars to work. Please follow the link to get a better idea of how your donations support Walterville Elementary School.
The kindergarten class of 2013-14 is invited to come visit the Walterville School community on either Thursday, March 7th, or Tuesday, March 12th.
* Parents can set up observation times any morning during either of those weeks by calling the office at 541-744-6415 to schedule.
* On Thursday, March 7th at 5:30pm, and again on Tuesday, March 12th at 10:00am, prospective Walterville kindergarten parents are invited to meet with the kindergarten teacher, our school principal, and other Walterville parents in our library who will be available for any questions you may have about your child’s upcoming kindergarten experience. This is also a good time for parents to register kindergarten students for school.
Incoming kinders will have the opportunity to visit the classroom at each of these events. Please remember to bring proof of residence (i.e., utility bill) and your child’s birth certificate and immunization record.
If you have any questions regarding school boundaries or transfers please call our office, Amy Stephens at 541-726-3254, or go to Transfers at www.sps.lane.edu.
Our district is competing in the Follett Challenge. Librarians from around the district have shared what they are doing to support students and teachers in the video below. Watch the video and see some Walterville students talk about their success with ereaders. Click the link to vote. You can vote daily all the way through March 18th. If our district wins, it could mean thousands of dollars in library materials for our schools. Take a moment to support our schools! Thank you!
